Roleplay in Cedar Creek – Getting Further Involved

GETTING FURTHER INVOLVED

Here is some friendly advice to further involve yourself within the Cedar Creek community:

  • If you are completely new to Cedar Creek roleplay, your first priority should be learning how to play. Role Playing allows you to be anyone you want to be. The emphasis here is interaction and description, not winning or losing. It is about telling your character’s story.
    • Be proactive. Some people always complain there is no roleplay in a community, but you are responsible for getting other people interested in playing with you. A good way to get into roleplay is to have your character join one of the available town career opportunities, such as the police department, fire department, the hospital, school, or judicial system.  Otherwise, open a store, or contact an Estate Manager to determine if some of the NPC/Decor businesses need employees.
    • Be persistent. It can take some time to establish yourself within a community. It can take time to join one of the available careers. Communicating with other players, both ICly and OOCly can help you make friends.
    • Be Interesting. Not everyone is perfect in real life. Having a quirk can be rewarding. Breaking the stereotype of a type of person can be fun. Just remember to be realistic.
    • Do some research. If you are interested in being a doctor, do some searching on the web, it can make you a more interesting character to interact with.
  • Attending sim-wide events is an excellent way to meet the other players.  We do our best to ensure that there are events of sorts for people to attend, unwind, let their hair down, and have fun with one another.
  • Create your life in Cedar Creek. Life is not always like an action movie. Making a simple trip to the corner store, or heading out into town for a steak dinner, can be fun too. You never know who you’ll meet and this allows you to form relationships! Chances are that the people you see might be someone just waiting for someone to post because they are too shy or too nervous about starting it themselves!
  • Last, but not least, if you have an idea for the community, talk to a Manager. Cedar Creek is all about the community. Without the people here, it would simply be a nice-looking sim. The people are what make the community.  Managers are always willing to listen to your ideas. Just remember, not all ideas are always implemented, but maybe a variation of the idea can be!
